The Hatsan Galatian I-LW carbine is a powerful, precise multi-shot air rifle (16, 14 or 13-shot depending on caliber) of the PCP (Pre-Charged Pneumatic) type, with a Lothar Walther barrel and a TH (thumbhole) stock made of Turkish walnut. The Galatian series are Hatsan's most advanced air rifles, particularly recommended for enthusiasts of all kinds of modifications and tuning.
Barrel - precise, rifled, 23" (585 mm) long, from Lothar Walther. This German company is one of the most recognized manufacturers of barrels for competition firearms and air rifles with over 80 years of tradition. The high quality of Lothar Walther barrels has a huge impact on accuracy and long-range shooting and is one of the most important elements of any weapon. The constriction at the barrel's muzzle (called a choke) significantly improves the carbine's accuracy, especially when shooting at long distances. The barrel end with an external 1/2" UNF thread allows for mounting a sound suppressor, muzzle brake or separator.
Air Cylinder - the rifle is equipped with a large, interchangeable aluminum compressed air tank with a capacity of 255 cc located under the barrel. A built-in pressure gauge allows for continuous monitoring of the pressure in the tank, and thus its charge level. A rotating cover protects the air inlet to the cylinder from damage.
Magazine - interchangeable rotary, made of durable, lightweight aluminum alloy. Galatian and Galatian Carbine series air rifles are characterized by large magazine capacities. Depending on the caliber, magazines are available: 16-shot (cal. 4.5 mm), 14-shot (cal. 5.5 mm) or 13-shot (cal. 6.35 mm). Two magazines are included in the set.
Stock - ergonomic stock with a thumbhole (TH - thumbhole) made of selected Turkish walnut wood. The checkering on the pistol grip and the central part of the fore-end ensures a secure grip and serves a decorative function.
The buttstock features a contoured Monte Carlo type cheekpiece facilitating aiming and shooting. The stock is suitable for both right and left-handed users, and at the bottom of the stock there is an additional socket for a spare magazine. The stock design allows for full adjustment of the butt pad length and cheekpiece height using screws.
Receiver - made of aviation aluminum, finished with a white nickel alloy decorated with engraving.
Mounting rail - the air rifle has a double mounting rail compliant with 11 mm and 22 mm (picatinny) standards, allowing for the mounting of any optical sight. Additionally, the rail has a recoil absorbing stopper after a shot, preventing the optical sight from moving along the rail and becoming misaligned.
Safety - Galatian and Galatian Carbine series include many unique solutions improving comfort and safety of use:
Quattro Trigger - two-stage adjustable trigger mechanism (with adjustable trigger pull weight and travel). It allows individualizing the trigger's characteristics to the user's requirements, thereby improving accuracy and ease of shooting.
TruGlo - open fiber optic sights with contrasting fiber colors allow for precise shooting even in low light conditions. The front sight is red, the rear sight is green, with vertical and horizontal adjustment.
Manual safety - protecting against unintentional discharge.
Anti-double-pellet feed - mechanism preventing loading more than one pellet into the barrel.
Anti-Knock System® - patented system preventing compressed air loss in case of mechanical impact to the air rifle.
